Welcome to our 6th year of NFL CONFIDENCE PICKS !!!!!
This also marks the 99th SEASON OF THE NFL!!
QUESTION: How many of you would have thought with TWO (2) weeks to go in the regular season the CLEVELAND BROWNS, would still have a shot at the playoffs?
From the reviews of several BOTCHED CALLS Thursday night it would be difficult to actually call a DEFINITE winner in the game. Those calls or non calls could have had an effect or no effect on the game. There was definitely a helmet to helmet hit by KC. (No call). There was DEFINITELY NO CONTACT on the Chargers TD attempt by Williams. BUT there was a botched call there. There were several other questionable calls. One can never be sure just what the effect it could be. I am not sure of the ratio of bad calls or botched calls on both teams. Maybe it would even out in the end. But in the end the Chargers came away with the “W”.
RE: The supposedly missed call in Monday Nights game. In which SEATTLE’S BOBBY WAGNER leaped over his team mates to block the FIELD GOAL ATTEMPT, by the VIKINGS.THE NO CALL WAS CORRECT. If you watch a rerun, and read the rule below you will see there was NO PROPULSION HIGHER. His head was no higher than if he was standing erect (maybe on his toes), but there would be no disputable proof of infraction of the ‘LEAPING RULE”
LEAPING RULE:
An unsportsmanlike penalty called when a player, who is no7t within 1-yard of the line of scrimmage, running forward and jumping or using a teammate as a launching point to propel higher and block a kick. The resulting penalty is 15-yards and an automatic first down for the offense, or if the extra point or field goal is good then the penalty is assessed on the ensuing kickoff.
ONCE AGAIN. NFL showed they don’t know how to interpret their OWN rules. Regardless of how the above rule is stated. They managed to twist to say there should have been a call. JUST Shows how little they know. Like NASCAR. NFL interprets their rules as they want on a case to case basis.
Merely another reason to stop watching, and patronizing them. ONE of the reasons after many years I ceased watching NASCAR.
But as I was told at one of my jobs. “These are OUR RULES, we will interpret them how we want when we want”.

FOURTEEN weeks;THIRTEEN OTs . Did we have that many for the whole season last year.
Is it because of the rule changes or are we seeing more parity in the league.

For those of you who do not know how confidence ranking goes, let me explain.
If we were playing an office pool,(which we ARE NOT). The object is to score the most points. To obtain the score YOU rank the teams by how confident you are a team will win its game. EXAMPLE: Say this week we have 16 games. The team you are most confident will win you would assign the number 16 and follow down to the team you are least confident in and assign that number 1. You add up the TOTAL CORRECT PICKS.. That would be your score. We use the Monday night (Last game played) as a TIE BREAKER. The tie is broken by the closest to the total (that is the COMBINED score of the two participating teams) final score, without going over.
If we were playing this is how my sheet would look; My pick will be in bold Capital letters. you can use circling, underlining, or highlighting. I will show my correct points in Bold
YOU can adopt the scoring described above. Or, the optional method. A negative score for missed games. We will continue to get a positive score for correct predictions. EXAMPLE: if you scored 1 pt on the first game and you had 15 pts on the second game and lost you would still have a 1 on regular scoring.
1. HOWEVER. with the same scenario new scoring system would result with a –14 score.
I will fill in my picks Thursday. Until then feel free to:
