COMMENTS: Biggest Blown Call.. The reversal of Dez Bryant REVERSAL. I replayed the action numerous times. I had others observe it and we all agreed no doubt he had control. switched hands, stretched to cross line and scored a TD. But apparently scoring a TD is not considered completing a play in the NFL. Then you look at the TD in the College Playoff. Oregon players TD counted. But I can’t understand how he could have had control when he had like one finger touching the end of the ball when crossed the line. Oh well two different games. I know most of you aren’t playing the “pool” any more. What we did when I ran the company pool, was raised the entry fee. AND heavily relied on the Tie Breaker. Enjoy the rest of the season. I don’t care for the “PRO BOWL” so you won’t see any posts on that. But now we are down to the final four. We should be able to see an all out effort by all teams. We had a few odd things this past week. We saw a defensive player JUMP the gun and reach the QB. Before the SNAP. We saw a Coach fumble his attempt to throw a red challenge flag. I am sure there are more that I didn’t see, or may have confused with college games. Like, I remember seeing a tipped (pass or FG) attempt landing in the hands of an offensive player for a TD. (Guess I need to take notes; and not just rely on my memory). I forgot to mention “BEAST MODE”. Yes Lynch turned it on again. If you missed it, you wish you could have seen it. At the 5 yard line he is so mobbed by players it is a wonder he didn’t trip. But with the defense repelling him, and his team pushing, for all its worth, Lynch kept going across the goal line. NFL Week 19 Divisional Playoff 01/11-12/2013
Yes I Blew it again. It is my one big weakness when it comes to the NFL Championship series. Setting aside the Kansas City Chiefs at Indianapolis Colts game which was played indoors. (Not outdoors, as Football was meant to be played). I will always fall for that old COLD FIELD advantage. The team based in a cold weather area has an advantage because they are used to playing in cold weather. Looking back it seems to be that it is a hindrance. Perhaps the cold weather team assumes it has an advantage, or the warm weather team prepares better, or both. One must also take into consideration, over the course of a season all teams play in warm climate, cold climate, and indoors. Thus I am certain, (now) the COLD FIELD,Advantage no longer exists. NFL Confidence Picks Week 14 12/05 To 12/09/2013
Last week was a so-so week for me. I’d bet many of you beat me. Before I get to my picks I would like to point out an article I read in USA Today. Talking about what a surprise Seattle QB Russell Wilson is. If I may direct you to my post of January, 13,2012. http://fromthemiddleblog.com/2012/01/13/ In this post you will notice I had Wilson as a top 3 QB, and the type of team all 3 would be ideal for. Unfortunately for one of the three was thrown into the fire pre-maturely. Read the post and see who. In a follow up article I stated that if the COLTS chose Andrew they would have to release most of the starters and build around him. (I Believe they did this) Here are my picks. I must say the San Francisco-Seattle match up is a poser for me. My Mind says one thing and the math says another. So I will remain true to my method and go with the numbers (reluctantly). The Atlanta -Green Bay game, mathematically speaking came up a draw. So in case of a draw i go with the home team; that 12th man thing, and the fact that home teams seem to get a break on the calls.
